To qualify as an NDL premium lease driver, a driver must:


- Pass a pre-employment Drug Screen
- Meet NDL’s Pre-employment Screening Program (PSP) FMCSA requirements
- Maintain enrollment in a Federal Mandated Drug and Alcohol Program monitored by NDL
- Pass a previous employer vetted Pre-Employment Drug and Alcohol History
- Maintain a current Medical certificate by Physicians on the National Registry
- Pass an extensive background investigation to include prior employment and criminal history
- Maintain a Current Motor Vehicle Report (MVR)


Current and Complete DOT driver qualification file as per FMCSA 49 CFR part 391.51 fully reviewed and monitored by our quality and control team ensuring DOT compliance

- To wear a seat belt
- To refrain from use of cell phone and texting
- To refrain from transporting unauthorized passengers
- To list all violations once found guilty or forfeited bond
- Annual review of driving record


All of the above driver requirements are paid for and monitored by NDL to ensure total compliance at all times with no additional expense to the client. In the unlikely event one of NDL drivers is involved in a motor vehicle accident, our team of investigators will review the accident and determine prevent-ability/ non prevent-ability. Should an NDL driver be found to have had a preventable accident or in the unlikely event the driver receives an out of service violation (OOS) at a roadside stop by authorities, the driver will be immediately replaced and disciplinary procedures will be mandated.
